testimonials from students and parents
“I can’t say enough about what a great fit EYC has been for our family with a middle school learner. EYC offers a broad curriculum, via a nationally accredited provider, delivered via a 1:1 instruction model. My learner attended a learning center for in-person instruction until COVID-19 at which point classes seamlessly transitioned to virtual delivery. Classes start at the top of each hour and include instruction, discussion, and work time. They have a no homework policy which is awesome for everyone in the household! They provide all materials but we supply the laptop at home; all materials are provided when students are in the learning center.
A few highlights:
– My learner receives highly personalized instruction that taps into areas of passion and ensures understanding in areas that are more challenging.
– The instructors provide weekly recaps with progress and observations and are very open to incorporating feedback and sharing recommendations for continued learning at home.
– My learner appreciates the focus and lack of distractions that were encountered in other academic environments.
– Seamless transition to virtual learning whether to support distance learning, inclement weather, or unexpected global pandemics.”
This is such a wonderful option for my child’s school! The Head of School, Lou, is wonderful and will listen and help with anything. The teachers are fantastic! They make the learning relevant to your child! I highly recommend this school!
“EYC MAKES LEARNING FUN!”, a direct quote from my 12 yr. old grandson! I homeschool my gifted 12-year-old grandson and we bring him to EYC for extra studies in Math, Science, and History. This is the first place he has said that he “loves!” His Mom and I are thrilled beyond words that he feels this way because we have tried other schooling avenues and none of them worked for him! He said his teacher Sean is an AWESOME teacher and that he really likes the “one on one” approach. EYC has a friendly, warm environment that is conducive to learning. My grandson does not feel any pressure or stress about going there. In fact, there was one day that we thought he might have to miss class because of a doctor’s appointment, and he said, “Oh, no! I do not want to miss class! I’m making really good progress and I don’t want to mess that up!” Holy Moly, I NEVER thought I would hear those words come out of his mouth! So, if you are wondering if this is the right place for your child, I would like to say, “Don’t hesitate! This place is wonderful, and we are so glad we found it! Thank you EYC!!”
EYC Academy’s accommodating environment has been a perfect fit for our son. The personalized curriculum, flexible schedule and one-to-one instruction have provided the exact setting our son needed to maximize his learning potential. We feel fortunate that we were referred to EYC when our child needed an alternative to traditional education. EYC has the flexibility to provide short-term or long-term options which makes it one of a kind in West St. Louis County.
EYC helped my child with struggles in Algebra to successfully complete needed credits to compete as an athlete. The staff has been incredibly supportive and provided a comfortable learning environment. Thank you EYC!
In addition to her regular curriculum, she is also taking ACT prep classes twice a week. EYC gave her a practice ACT and will administer the ACT as well. This is just a great bonus.
The school is new, bright, cheerful, and convenient. I am thankful every day that I found out about EYC and made that first call. EYC was exactly what my daughter needed, and it is making a world of difference for her. She is a happier and more self-confident teen. I cannot recommend EYC enough to anyone who is looking for an alternative for their child.
“I have 2 kids age 12 and 14. We started EYC last year. Both of my kids missed school days due to multiple health issues. Their grades were starting to suffer. They had been straight “A” students and they wanted to maintain “A” grades, but their school attendance made this a struggle.
EYC educated us about our distance learning options. Without their guidance we would not have know about these programs.
We also use EYC for 1:1 tutoring. They help our kids stay on track. Both of my kids grades improved through the help of EYC.
I cannot say enough about how positive the teachers and staff at EYC have been.
We are already working on our fall plan to have EYC assist us with Distance Learning.”
